1. Ozzy and Peanut’s house:

Melon was feeling himself tonight. Halloween was finally here and whilst his costume may not exactly scream ‘spooky’, he sure feels cute in it.

Maybe others won’t like it? he thought briefly before waving away the absurd notion. How could anyone resist his charming flower getup? He picked up his pace as he approached an elaborately decorated home, the first on the street.

Judging by these fancy animatronics, whoever lives here is bound to have something good, Melon thought to himself.

Something about animatronics had always spooked Melon out but he proceeded towards the front door, giving it a knock, anyways. He was eager to get many treats tonight, after all. While he waited, Melon maintained a watchful eye on the creepy robotic creatures behind him, just in case.

As two shadows approached the door, Melon felt giddy with nerves and excitement. He straightened out his flower petals, prepared to look his best.

“Trick or Treat!!” he screamed as the door opened, perhaps a little too enthusiastically.

Response to gift: “Thank you so much!” Melon replied, delicately catching the jelloblocks and placing them into his basket. He giggled at the sight of Peanut struggling to get back to the petals on his costume but thought it better not to terrorize him any further. He waved a quick goodbye, a smile on his face and headed off to the next house.

2. Strava’s house:

This looks like the perfect place to find candy, Melon thought to himself sarcastically, eyeing up the next house, a concrete dwelling up ahead. In front of him stood what appeared to be the most unfriendly residence he had ever seen, completely surrounded by chains and barbed wire.

As he got closer, the screams from within added to Melon’s apprehension - they did not sound like screams of joy. He had to find out if whoever was screaming from inside was ok. He navigated the (very) sharp obstacles until he reached the front door. He took a brief moment to catch his breath before sheepishly knocking.

As time passed with no response from within, Melon grew ever more unsure of his decision. Looking back around at the chains and barbed wires, it didn’t seem like whoever was inside wanted to be disturbed. Melon decided it was important to be sure.

“Hello?” he enquired, giving another uneasy knock on the door “Are you alright?”

Response to gift: Melon jumps back a little when the butterfly first appears. He decides it is best not to ask any questions. He grabs the mysterious potion and swiftly moves on to the next house.

3. Mr. Stone’s house:

Melon was excited to approach the abandoned-looking house up ahead.

He had heard the wild rumors that circulated regarding the deranged cat who lived here. Whoever he was, he sounded perfectly unhinged and Melon really wanted to meet him. After all, this crazy jellocat was practically a celebrity in this neighborhood and this was sure to be a quintessential Halloween adventure, no matter what happened.

Melon approached the door and gave it a few happy little taps.

“Trick or Treat!” he yelled gleefully, his face lit up with anticipation.

Response to gift: Melon dodges the frog’s attacks. He quickly grabs a pointy rock, just in case and books it back to the street for safety.

4. Eren and Saiya’s house:

Melon’s night had taken a peculiar turn after his visit to the last two houses. Sure, his basket felt a little heavier from the goodies he had collected and the cats at the first home were pretty friendly but those last two houses had shaken him up and he was feeling a bit more apprehensive now.

As he approached the next residence, he desperately hoped that his experience would be more pleasant here.

At first glance, the house ahead seemed unassuming enough and Melon could hear the comforting sound of pets bounding around happily within - always a good sign.

He knocked lightly on the door, feeling slightly sheepish. As the door swung open, Melon tried his hardest to manifest a cheerful expression onto his face before shouting “Treats please!”. He hoped that the two cats before him would oblige.

Response to gift: Melon joyfully grabs the bunny and gently places him into his basket. “I am gonna love him forever!” He shouts in delight “Thank you so much!”. The bunny blinks up at him, not a thought behind those eyes. Melon examines the bun’s patchy fur and decides that he finds it endearing. He gives him a little pat on the head, happy to have found a new friend. Melon waves goodbye to the two eccentric siblings and pushes forward.

5. Corny’s house:

Melon had a renewed pep in his step now. He loved bunnies after all and that last house was simply magical!

He eagerly approached the next house, bunny nestled inside his pumpkin basket, fast asleep.

The house in front of him looked pretty simplistic but the pumpkins outside were carved with fun little faces so Melon got the impression that trick or treaters were welcome here.

He felt even more encouraged when he spotted the owner enthusiastically handing out candy up front. Melon approached him, smiled politely and belted “Trick or Treat!”

Response to gift: “I love sour gummy worms!” Melon quickly responded. He didn’t have to think about the question for very long - it was a simple choice! He loved all kinds of candy but the sour gummies were his favorite by far.

“And I would love an axolotl!” he said, smiling and holding his hands out in anticipation. “Thank you so much”.

6. Sniffy’s house:

Melon made his way to the house with the porch swing next. “Trick or Treat” he blurted out, a touch out of breath, to the old lady swinging there.

She seemed friendly and had a warm, welcoming expression on her face. She reminded Melon of a kindly grandma - the type to offer everyone mints from her purse.

“May I rest here for a little while?” he asked, placing his basket on the ground for a moment to catch his breath. It had been a long day and the vibes seemed very peaceful here.

Response to gift: Melon is super grateful for the much needed rest. “I really enjoyed our chat, '' Melon says. He takes the swirlberries from the nice lady, thanks her again and waves, before moving on to the next house.

7. Flatwood’s house:

Melon was starting to feel quite tired at this point. His rest at the previous house had helped but his basket was getting heavy and he was running out of steam. The house up ahead appeared to have its lights off but the jellocat at the window was looking out at him in expectation as he got closer.

Melon decided to try his luck. After all, there were only two houses left on the street.
He walked up the driveway, knocked on the door and waited patiently. “Trick or Treat!” he shouted as the door creaked open.

Response to gift: Melon takes the ticket from the nice jellocat and thanks them. “I hope you have a lovely evening!” he says, before heading out.

8. CandyMan’s house:

Apple bobbing is a favorite fall activity for jellocats and Melon was no exception. You can only imagine his delight when he approached the final house to find an apple bobbing station set up. His eyes lit up as he envisioned himself snatching apples from the barrel and whatever shiny prizes might be in store, if he succeeded to pull one out of the water.

He had saved this, the most impressive looking house, for last and could barely contain his enthusiasm now that he was here. He couldn’t wait to try out the maze, the one he had spotted from all the way down the street. All prior feelings of exhaustion had left his body upon seeing this house. Maybe he would even ask for some of that freshly shucked corn - it looked delicious.

Melon practically skipped to the door with anticipation. He gave it a couple of excited knocks before gleefully yelling “Trick or Treat!”.

Response to gift: Melon took the gifts from the CandyMan and spent a little time admiring the shiny trophy in his hands before setting it aside in his pail, alongside the myo.

“I had the BEST time ever!!” Melon squealed in delight. “So many awesome surprises and the kindest jellocats I have ever met. I can barely hold my basket! Look!” He dramatically made an attempt to lift his basket to the sky to illustrate how heavy it was, struggling with the weight of all the goodies inside.

“You have the coolest neighborhood,” Melon continued, beaming. “I am gonna come back every year!!!” he promised. Melon wasn’t exaggerating. He did have a wonderful trick or treating experience and he knew he was going to remember all of his adventures here for a long time.

“Thank you for welcoming all of us and giving us such thoughtful gifts!” Melon said. “I am going to head home now and play with all of my new stuff!”

He waved the CandyMan goodbye and set off home, grateful and excited for a nap.
